Adam Sandler Bio, Movies, Picture

July 25th, 2008 · No Comments

The budding actor was seen in the hit TV series, The Cosby Show in the 1980s, playing Smitty, a friend of Theo Huxtable in four episodes. His big break with a television audience came when he was discovered on the comedy club circuit and was signed up for Saturday Night Live, the launching pad of many a star. Adam Sandler appeared in the show from 1991 until 1995.

Sometimes it's difficult for an actor to break out of a particular genre. Adam Sandler built his career on his comedic roles and he has comic talent to spare. In recent years however, he has gained critical acclaim for more serious roles. Having showed his versatility, he is sure to have an enduring movie career.

adam.jpgThe first lead role in a movie was in Going Overboard in 1989 in which he plays a comic trying to succeed on a cruise ship. In 1995, he showed off his writing talent by co-writing Billy Madison. Starring as Billy, Sandler is a 27-year-old man who must repeat all 12 grades of school in order to graduate and inherit his father's hotel business.

One of his best known films, Happy Gilmore, was released the following year. Once again, he shared the writing credits and played the lead. Happy Gilmore is a failed ice hockey player who turns to the golf tour to make enough money to save his Grandmother from losing her house. He discovers that he has an aptitude for the sport but the golf crowd are not used to his hockey temperament!Adam Sandler has other projects in the pipeline and can look forward to lots of good scripts landing on his doormat.

1998 brought another hit, with the romantic comedy, The Wedding Singer. Adam Sandler plays Robbie Hart, a professional wedding singer unlucky in love. He pursues a waitress called Julia, portrayed by Drew Barrymore. Rock singer Billy Idol provides a cameo role as himself. A part as the troubled businessman, Barry Egan in Punch Drunk Love in 2002 gave Sandler a Golden Globe nomination. The film, which also featured Emily Watson and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, was well received. Spanglish, co-starring Tea Leoni, Paz Vega and Cloris Leachman, followed two years later. Sandler gives a subtle performance as a successful chef struggling with a failing marriage.

A very dramatic and interesting movie further enhanced Sandler's reputation when Reign Over Me was released in 2007. Also featuring Don Cheadle and Donald Sutherland, it is a story of friendship and loss following the events of 9/11 in New York City.

Low Carb Breakfast Is Healthy

July 24th, 2008 · No Comments

Living in the age we do, you can certainly count on oodles of supplements. Regardless of where you shop, there are plenty of quick and easy breakfast bars at your disposal. Most of these are low in carbohydrates and high in protein. This way you're able to feed your muscles and not your spare tire. So if you're seeking a more convenient low carb breakfast alternative, this is perfect for you.

In general, the standard low carb breakfast starts with eggs. Maybe you like them and maybe you don't, but the truth is you'll encounter plenty of low carb breakfast ideas that involve the incredible edible egg. I have a buddy who's heavy into bodybuilding and he starts his day with six egg whites and one slice of whole wheat toast. This way he gets some healthy carbs to burn for energy and plenty of protein from the egg whites. Extracting the yoke is key. That is if you want to ditch the fat and cholesterol found in eggs. Eating only the egg whites allows you to get the good aspects, but minus the unhealthy side. You can't beat that low carb breakfast idea. Also, omelets are a great way to get a healthy breakfast without a heavy dose of carbs. Try vegetable omelets for a wonderful array of protein and vitamins. Simply select a couple of your favorite veges, such as red peppers and onions, and dice them to compliment your healthy low carb breakfast.

If you've paid any attention to the latest diet trends, you surely know about the low-carb craze. How did this ever come about one may ask? It's simply, really. Carbohydrates are one element of the human diet that provides our bodies with long-term energy. Naturally there is a downside to this wonderful energy source. If too many carbs or the "wrong carbs" are consumed, this can lead to weight-gain. Our bodies can only burn so many carbs at once. The ones that fail to get burned-off will naturally be stored as fat. Most folks dread this! The last thing we need is more fat on our bodies. This is where the low carb breakfast concept comes into play. If you begin your day with a low-carb meal, your body will have fewer carbohydrates to burn off before lunch-time hits.

Food Portion Sizes , Cut Food Intake

July 24th, 2008 · No Comments

For one thing, we Americans are used to piling the entire meal on one plate. This is, psychologically, a recipe for failure. It's somewhat like going to the fancy New York dinner house, where the prices are high and the food portion sizes are terribly small. The visual effect of such a plate is at best, discouraging. "That's it?" Already, your stomach is growling at you, letting you know this won't cut it. You wolf down these miserably miniscule tidbits attempting to masquerade as a meal. Unsatisfied, you hit the mini-mart on the way home and fill up on chips and some cookies. This is no way to lose weight.

Those who wish to lose weight are constantly chided over food portion sizes. You are told to weigh a three or four ounce portion of meat and pretend it's satisfying. Adding insult to injury, you're supposed to like it. If you're a guy accustomed to eating that big steak, you're bound to end up feeling deprived as you view the dinner plate with this tiny piece of meat, lost amid a seemingly giant expanse of empty plate. As the centerpiece of a diet plan, this approach doesn't usually work out. If you are such an aspiring dieter, take heart. Here are some ways to creatively and satisfactorily use the food portion size to actually realize weight loss.

By the time you've consumed your dinner, you're both satisfied and relaxed. On a diet like this, you will lose weight. Play it again, Sam!

Another approach to food portion sizes works out admirably. Instead of a single-course meal, divide your meal into three or more courses. Begin with an appetizer. A dessert cup, containing an abundance of salad shrimp doused with a flavorful cocktail sauce on a bed of hearts of Romaine lettuce is an inspiring beginning. Consume this enticing dish slowly, garnished with good conversation. Take a break between bites. Enjoy this simple dish. Kick back before continuing. So far, your calorie count is minimal. Your stomach acknowledges the fine taste and substance.

Here we come to the third course, that little piece of meat. Although the food portion size is small, your mind and appetite are in the right place. That chicken breast, grilled to perfection and graced with just the right amount of creamed caper sauce, becomes a treat rather than a trial. Devour it slowly and savor all the flavor.

Now, have a bowl of soup, with a side of garlic bread. Dip the bread in your soup and appreciate your dinner partner's conversation. Yes, that's good. Your appetite is slowly being satiated, diminishing that feeling of deprivation. So far, these food portion sizes have not contributed much to weight gain, and the nutritive value is outstanding.

Scuba Diving Equipment , Beyond The Water’s Surface

July 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Goggles are a must if you want to venture into the ocean. You want to be able to open your eyes so you can see everything. It’s a good idea when you are shopping for goggles to try on a few pairs. You want them to fit snugly around your head but not to the point that you find it painful. If you are planning on making scuba diving a regular hobby, don’t be afraid to invest a good amount of money into the goggles.

Exploration is always a good thing. Many of us go on yearly vacations simply because we want to experience and explore life in a completely new environment. One of the best vacation ideas out there is to take a trip to somewhere tropical so you can partake in a little scuba diving. Having the ability to dive below the water’s surface to see all that nature offers is amazing. All you need is a qualified instructor and some scuba diving equipment and you are set.

A watch is essential when you are enjoying this sport. You want to be able to keep track of time. Obviously a standard wrist watch won’t suffice. A dive watch is specifically designed to be immersed in many feet of water. Along the same line a digital camera is a great thing to have. You’ll likely want to remember the experience, so take a look at digital cameras that are rated to be taken in the water. These two pieces of scuba diving equipment will really add to the experience.

If you’d rather not spend the time picking out each individual piece of gear you can opt to buy a scuba diving equipment package. This will contain all the basics you need to get started. It’s a great idea for anyone who is new to the sport and not familiar with all that is required. If you do invest in a package, you can always add on to it as you need to.

Dive skins are an integral part of the gear you’ll need when you decide to go snorkeling or scuba diving. Although some people wear their regular bathing suits, this isn’t recommended. Any retailer who has a good selection of scuba diving equipment will have dive skins for both men and women. If your kids are joining you in the ocean, pick up an outfit for them as well. They help protect your skin from becoming water logged and they also ensure that you won’t receive any small scratches if you happen to rub up against something.

Detoxification Diets, What Is All About?

July 21st, 2008 · No Comments

When you hear the word ‘diet’ you probably think of losing weight. A diet is actually what you eat no matter if you are losing, maintaining, or not caring at all either way. Detoxification diets, on the other hand, are special diets meant to cleanse toxins from the body for better health. If you think about all of the illnesses that are out there right now, many of them may have something to do with toxins in the body. Some will go on detoxification diets to get foreign things from their bodies in hopes of avoiding many diseases.

There are hundreds of different diets out there, and many people try quite a few before they finally find something that works for them, even if they don’t end up sticking with the programs. There are low fat and low calories diets that rarely work, and there are low carb programs like Atkins or South Beach. There are others with prepackaged foods that are a mixture of the two. On top of those, there are special diets for some medical conditions, and there are also detoxification diets that are meant for something else.

Detoxification diets aren’t something that always lasts forever. Most do them for a few weeks and then try to modify their regular diet to keep the toxins out. This might mean buying foods from natural stores, and making sure fruits and vegetables are fresh and organic. It costs more to eat that way, but the savings may come in the form of good health and reduced medical costs. Think about what is on a label before you buy it if you want to keep these things from your body, and encourage your family to do the same. Also remember that drinking plenty of water each day is a great way to keep the body clean no matter what type of eating plan you are using.

When you think about what you eat, you might think you are doing well. However, you should take a look at what really goes into many of the foods you buy. There are many things used for preservatives and even taste or texture that are not food items. These chemicals are foreign to the body and the body does not know what to do with them. When you go on detoxification diets, you are trying to rid your body of any of these things that come from your foods and other places in your environment.

Airbrushed Temporary Tattoos Are Easy And Risk Free

July 20th, 2008 · No Comments

They are a fun and easy thing to try for anyone, regardless of age. It’s very cool to see what you would look like with a tattoo. You can even change up the design each time you get one. Airbrushed temporary tattoos are the ideal way to dress up your body and make a statement.

These non-permanent versions of the real thing are mostly done at carnivals, fairs and other special events. They have tents set up, where artists use an airbrush gun to create beautiful works of art on people. There is a wide variety of designs to choose from so you are sure to find something that you will like. The best part about airbrushed temporary tattoos is that they are just that, temporary. They wash off in about a week or so you don’t have the commitment or the pain either.

Tattoos look great on most people. When we see someone with a tattoo, it makes us want one as well. We see the attention they get and how they can tell a story to people about why they got it and what it means to them. Although tattoos are beautiful works of art, they are also very permanent. It is a lifetime commitment to something on your body and this fact scares a lot of people. If you are looking to see if a tattoo is right for you, then try airbrushed temporary tattoos first.

In order to get permanent body art in most areas, you have to be 18 years of age or older, or have parental consent. If you are young and don’t have your parent’s permission you can’t get one. However, if you are 15 or 16 you can still get some airbrush tattoos and your parents aren’t likely to get too irate. They don’t have to worry about you putting something on your body that is going to be there forever. You still get the feeling of having a tattoo and they have the reassurance of knowing it’s not always going to be there.

You will get the same effect as you would if you decided to go the permanent route, just without all of the consequences. Some tattoo sessions don’t go well and the person starts to bleed or faints because of the pain. This could lead to the artist becoming affected by it, since they may make a mistake if you move or budge. With airbrushed temporary tattoos, there is no worry. If the artists make a mistake, they can fix it. If you move or budge when getting airbrush tattoos, it’s not going to result in a life long mistake that you have to carry with you always.

Living The Modern Healthy Lifestyle

July 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Changing the way you eat is one of the first things you want to consider when thinking about a healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to give up the foods that you love, but you may want to change the way that you prepare them at home. If you love fast food, you will need to find ways to cut back on how many times you eat out and even what choices you make when you roll up to the window to make an order. There are some healthy choices when you must eat on the run, so think about those before you eat that burger and fries that are not always the best choices.

I know what you are thinking. If you have spent much of your life not paying attention to what you eat and what you do each day, you may have no idea or even any desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle. There are many reasons why people want to start living this way, and many times it has to do with losing weight, or having some sort of health scare. Some just worry more about the health of their body as they get older and realize they really are not immortal. This is not something that has to be as hard as you may imagine.

Smoking and drinking can get in the way of your choice to live a modern healthy lifestyle as well. Smoking should be stopped as soon as possible, and drinking should be cut down substantially. You might also want to think about some of your personal relationships. If you have friends that cause you quite a bit of stress, they can derail your plans without you realizing what they are doing. They don’t mean to do it, but their stress and negative energy can bring you down as well. Try to surround yourself with positive people, and also try to cheer those around you who are prone to being negative.

Your new healthy lifestyle should include some exercise. Many groan when they hear this, and think they have to join a gym or put a treadmill in their bedroom. The truth is that most who join a gym quit within a month, and treadmills often become just another piece of furniture. Instead, think about things you may like to do instead. Walking and even hiking are great ways to add exercise to your new healthy lifestyle. Hobbies and sports are much better additions when you want to get up and move, as they are more satisfying for both body and mind.

Hot Wax Hair Removal Tips

July 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Hot wax hair removal has been around for quite a while now. There are pros and cons to using this type of hair removal method, but there are many people who stick with it no matter what. I once read a funny account of a woman trying hot wax hair removal for the first time. Not only was it a disaster, there was also a lot of truth in it. Anyone who has tried this for the first time can tell you that it is not easy, but if you can get it right, you have found a great way to get rid of the hair that you no longer want to deal with.

Women fight with unsightly hair on their bodies and faces constantly. Though it is not something that a lot of women like to talk about, it is something that they have to do something about every day. The act of shaving your legs every single day will get old for anyone after a while. If you have problems with keeping your eyebrows in shape, or even facial hair that you don’t want anyone to see, shaving is not an option. This is why many people use hot wax hair removal to get rid of the hair that they don’t want on their bodies or faces.

I have tried hot wax hair removal at home on my own many times. I think the problem that I have is that most of the kits you can buy in the store are not made from a reliable type of wax. Many times the wax will not grab the hair as it should, and I end up having to use tweezers to clean up the mess. However, it seems that this does not deter me, as I continue to do hot wax hair removal at home. I have found that the home kits to take hair from your legs is not worth the time for me, but it works great on my eyebrows when I don’t have the time to go to the salon.

You should know that hot wax hair removal is not a permanent hair removal method. The only way to permanently get rid of hair is to have it taken off by a laser. Even so, this method is not perfect. Hot wax hair removal is something that you can do at home, or you can go to a salon. What you want to do will depend on your own personal preferences. Some people simply do not have the time to learn to do it correctly a home, so they rely on other people to help them. Do whatever works best for you.

July 14th, 2008 · No Comments

Using good ingredients and eating nutritious meals will assist in giving energy. Healthy cooking recipes boost the immune system and help to keep illness at bay. Eating nutritious food does not mean boring food! Healthy eating should not be a chore and there are plenty ways of enjoying tasty but recommended food. The good news is that there is no need to go without cakes or puddings! Low fat ingredients can be used as alternatives. Low Fat Apple Cinnamon Cake, for example, includes honey, low fat soft cheese, low fat fromage frais, lemon juice and apricot glaze. Brownies can be made with unsweetened chocolate and soy margarine.

There are lot of frugal recipes and good and cheap ingredients to combine with..

Many people are very aware of the food that they eat and they want to have a balanced diet with the right amount of vitamins and minerals. For a better lifestyle, healthy cooking recipes are important. Of course, it does no harm to have a treat now and then but there are some useful guidelines to follow. Grilled food is better than fried and it's essential to eat enough fruit, vegetables and grains. Red meat should be kept to a minimum with white meat or fish being healthier alternatives. If red meat is chosen, try to select lean cuts. Low fat food and a limit on caffeine, salt and sugar will help to achieve good health. There are plenty tasty vegetarian meals and Dijon Mushroom Potatoes is one of the best. The mushrooms and Dijon mustard are joined by carrots, onions, green bell peppers, black pepper, corn starch, soup stock and dark soy sauce. The finished dish is served over baked potatoes, hot from the oven. There is no need to dispense with curries either, when considering healthy cooking recipes. Mushroom Okra Curry is an easy to make, spicy curry with mushrooms, okra, canned tomatoes, and cilantro. The heat is provided by ginger, red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, and cardamom pods.Removing the skin from the chicken is the healthier option when preparing Fresh Basil Baked Chicken Breasts. Flavor is added by spreading low fat yogurt, starch and basil over the chicken. Fish is a great source of protein and oily fish is a particular good choice for healthy cooking recipes. Tuna Mixed Vegetable Pasta uses canned tuna, mushrooms, tomato paste and tomato juice, green onions, frozen peas, and garlic. Spiciness is added with red pepper and ground peppercorns and it is served with the pasta of your choice. White Fish Cutlets are even lower in fat if the skin is taken off the fish. This recipe calls for fish stock or dry white wine for poaching the cutlets, black pepper, chopped tomatoes, garlic, and black olives.

Finding The Right Types Of Sports For Healthy Modern Lifestyle

July 14th, 2008 · No Comments

That is when one of my friends turned me on to some other types of sports. He was involved in all types of adventure sports. He loved rock climbing, off-road biking, and many other activities that I had never even contemplated before. I had never really thought about these as sports before, but the seriousness with which he took his activities made me realize that that was precisely what they were. They were competitive sports, and he excelled in them. He was not a professional, of course, but he was an athlete nonetheless.

When I was a kid, I thought that I hated all sports. The only types of sports that I was exposed to, after all, were team sports. I was a pretty coordinated kid, but I wasn't a very good team player. I didn't have an easy time paying attention to the instructions of the coach, and I wanted to do everything on my own. I didn't really care whether our team won or lost. If I had been competing on my own, I think I might have liked it better. Nevertheless, I assumed that sports just weren't for me until I reached the age of 20.

Once I was able to enjoy sporting activity where I was only competing against myself, however, I soon got good at what I was doing. I worked out like a demon, and was sporting a six pac stomach and incredibly muscled arms by the end of the year. At the age of 23, I felt better than I ever had before, and I was only getting stronger. Nowadays, I enjoy mountain biking as my main type of sport. Any kind of outdoor recreation, however, holds my interest. I hope that this article can serve as a lesson for kids who think that they don't like sports at all. Maybe you just haven't been exposed to the right sport for you yet! Try doing something that seems adventurous, and you might be surprised by what you find.

I went out on excursions with them to try all types of adventure sports. We would hike for miles a day, climb up steep walls, dive into waterfalls, and in general enjoy ourselves in the great outdoors. At first, I was terrible at it. I had always been in very bad shape owing to the fact that I was not interested in any of the types of sports that I had been exposed to in school.
